Debra L. Griffin
Debra L. Griffin, a Mississippi native, has dedicated over 45 years to the healthcare industry, with a particular focus on rural healthcare. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in English from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Health Science in Health Care Administration from Mississippi College in Clinton, which she completed in December 1987.
Griffin’s extensive career includes roles as the CEO of two rural hospitals and COO of a third healthcare system, where she tirelessly advocated for equitable and quality healthcare in underserved communities. Her dedication to rural healthcare led her to create the Delta Rural Health Network and testify before a Senate Subcommittee for Medicare to propose a cost-plus factor for reimbursing critical access hospitals.
In 1989, Griffin’s life took a profound turn when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. This personal journey, coupled with her unwavering faith in God, deepened her commitment to improving healthcare access. Recognizing the critical need to decentralize health data and empower patients to take ownership of their holistic health histories, Griffin founded PPX-TEC, LLC.
Incorporated in April 2014, PPX-TEC has been at the forefront of developing patient-centric SaaS solutions focused on data fluidity, literacy, and usability. The company’s iOS app was launched on iTunes in April 2014 and the Google’s Android in 2015 a project that Griffin and her team bootstrapped to bring to fruition.
Throughout her career, Griffin has served on various national, state, and local boards related to healthcare and economic development. She was also honored with the Shirley Ann Munroe Leadership Development Award in 1999. Today, Griffin continues to champion the belief that access to appropriate healthcare is a fundamental human right, driving the development of innovative solutions to bridge care and data fragmentation.
